Congregation Beth Judea's weekly Torah Study Group, led by Beth Judea's Judaic facilitator Orin Rotman,  will meet throughout the year on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM.

 

    Over the years, the group has studied various parts of Torah, sometimes picking one book at a time, analyzing concepts and style.  In other years, they followed the course of the weekly parsha, or followed the course of the 613 mitzvot, or followed the course of the weekly haftarot.

 

    This year, the Study Group will branch out and move through other parts of Torah, a little piece at a time.  They will prepare 3 or 4 chapters a week and see what they find there is halachic, historic, literary, philosophical or just outright entertaining.  The group will study notes from a Torah Study program initiated some years ago by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) called 'Perek Yomi' (a chapter a day).  Please consult http://www.uscj.org/Perek_Yomi_A_Chapter5090.html for further information.
