Megillot: Lamentations & Song of Songs
A class with Rabbi David Rosenberg, begins october 11th

Rabbi David Rosenberg offers a second 10-session text course exploring two of the Five Scrolls+ Jonah — Lamentations (5 classes) and Song of Songs (5 classes) — following his course onEsther and Ruth. Original materials will incorporate traditional and contemporary perspectives.Each 1-½ hour-long session will explore one or two chapters. The course will be text-based andwill provide opportunities for chavruta (small study-group) learning and group discussion.Source sheets will be posted at
sefaria.org. After each session, the audio will be uploaded tothat session’s source sheet.

In case of inclement weather, the class may be held via Zoom

Dates:
The class will meet in Wednesday evenings
10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8 Lamentations.
11/15, (not 11/22), 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20 Song of Songs

Tuition:
$180 for members, $210 for non-members

Rabbi David M. Rosenberg has served as Coordinator of Jewish Educational Services at JCFSChicago since 2007. He directs the JCFS Knapp Yeshiva and serves as the agency’s liaison to theOrthodox Jewish community. He is co-chair of the Clergy Task Force to End Domestic Abuse inthe Jewish Community of Jewish Women International and is a member of the executivecommittee of Chicago Board of Rabbis. He has taught adult education classes on Tanach andother subjects for the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and privately since 2006.

David received his BA in Russian and East European Studies from Yale University and a master’sdegree in Bible and rabbinical ordination from Yeshiva University. He is a graduate fellowshipalumnus of the Wexner Foundation and a member of the Executive Committee of the ChicagoBoard of Rabbis. David and his wife, Frances Locke Rosenberg, a Registered Nurse Midwife, areparents of four and grandparents of four.
