Return and Prepare Service (RAP)           Sunday, August 29, 2021              9:00 a.m.

  • RAP your way into the High Holidays with the CBJ Religious School students and families for an invigorating and musical Selichot service. Help us change the CBJ Torah Covers from purple to the High Holiday whites, and yes – Rabbi Zimbalist and Cantor Bat-Sarah will set the mood by offering for the first time in CBJ history a High Holiday RAP! Weather permitting, an outdoor breakfast will be provided following the service.

Sing Lots with the Tots Service                 Tuesday, September 7, 2021         9:00 a.m.

  • Location TBD (possible outdoor service at Apachi or Zoom)

 

Create and Celebrate Service                    Tuesday, September 7, 2021         2:30 p.m.

  • Join Rabbi Zimbalist, Cantor Bat-Sarah, and Ritual Chair Norm Kurtz for a musical and educational service. The service will focus on students in K-6 with an abbreviated Torah and Haftorah reading, drasha from Rabbi Zimbalist, and active discussion. There will be something for students and adults of all ages. (duration 1.5-2 hours)
  • In-person and live-stream accessible
  • Masks required
  • K-6 grade students encouraged to attend with family members
  • Open to all CBJ members

  • CBJ Religious School students will be bussed to Green Lake Park
  • Parents and Grandparents are encouraged to join their children at the park
  • Religious School pick-up will be from Green Lake Park
  • Food will be served
  • Masks optional
  • No remote access
  • Open to all CBJ members

Create and Celebrate Kol Nidre Service      Wednesday, September 15, 2021       5:00 p.m.

  • Join Rabbi Zimbalist and Cantor Bat-Sarah for a musical and educational service. The service will focus on students in K-6 and will include a full recitation of Kol Nidre, drasha from Rabbi Zimbalist, and inspiring liturgy. There will be something for students and adults of all ages. We will begin and end promptly so that all participants may enjoy their pre-fast meal after the service. The fast begins at 7:00 p.m. (duration of service 45 minutes)

  • Open to all CBJ members

  • Traditional service and 7 – 12 grade students encouraged to attend
  • 11:00 a.m.          Rabbi Zimbalist’s sermon
  • 11:15 a.m.          Yizkor
  • 1:30 p.m.            Break (Traditional YK services will resume at 5:15 p.m.)

  • Traditional Mincha service and 7 – 12 grade students encouraged to attend
  • In-person and live-stream accessible
  • Masks optional with proof of vaccination

 

Ne’ila Service                                                 Thursday, September 16, 2021       6:30 p.m.

  • Traditional Ne’ila service open to all members and children
  • In-person and live-stream accessible
  • Masks required
  • Personal prayers in front of the Ark will be offered. Participants will stand on the bima in front of the Ark and masks will be optional during their brief personal prayers. Masks must be put on again when leaving the bima.
  • 7:41 p.m. Final Shofar Blasts
