Buffalo Grove Pride Parade

Event Type

Beloved Members of Congregation Beth Judea-

As CBJ has sponsored and participated in the Buffalo Grove Pride Parade without hesitation in the past, leadership has recognized the need for heightened scrutiny this year. Please know that after having exercised significant due-diligence and influence, CBJ will be sponsoring and participating once again in 2024.

The event’s SOLE purpose and messaging is to highlight, celebrate and normalize the LGBTQ+ community in the northwest suburbs of Chicago in a family-friendly way. As such, we will proudly carry a Congregation Beth Judea sign with our logo while wearing CBJ pride shirts that will be provided to you. In collaboration with the Pinta organization and other parade participants, the collective decision was made that items such as flags and signs with messaging of nationalistic or political allegiance are to be left at home.

We will continue to be especially vigilant in our safety protocol assessment ongoing and will remain open to amending our plan should it be deemed appropriate. Thank you for continuing to support the concept of inclusion as a core value of CBJ.

Shabbat Shalom,
Adam Barshefsky, President
Rabbi Zimbalist
